Most of the pilgrims visits the main shrines and ignore the other places which are<strong>\u00a0equally\u00a0important and part of our\u00a0Purans and Mythology<\/strong>, I will be\u00a0introducing my readers to these places and associated legends with it.<br \/>\n<strong>Hardwar &#8211; Har Ki Pauri<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm5.staticflickr.com\/4005\/4295883340_c5f2d06624.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hardwar Har-ki Pauri<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nThis is the place\u00a0visited\u00a0by all the pilgrims , a holy dip in the river Ganges here is considered to be absolving of all the sins, legend is, as a result of Churning of Sea by the Asuras and Devs,\u00a0the Amrit ( Ambrosia) came out and there was a dispute as to who should have it, in between <strong>the Garuda took the urn\u00a0 from the battle field and flew away<\/strong>, the four drops fell on earth at places <strong>Ujjain<\/strong>, <strong>Nasik<\/strong>, <strong>Prayag (Allahabad)<\/strong> and<strong> Hardwar<\/strong> , it is at this place in Hardwar the devotes take a bath on the banks of holy river Ma Ganga.<br \/>\n<strong>Chandi Devi Temple<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is the most ancient temple of India didicated to<strong> Chandi or Chandika<\/strong> , it is said that<strong> Ma Parvati assumed the\u00a0 form of<\/strong> <strong>Chandi<\/strong> as a attractive beautiful women to attract the <strong>Demon brothers Shumbh and Nishumbh<\/strong> who wanted to marry her, she had to\u00a0kill the<strong> demon chieftains Chanda and Munda<\/strong> before killing the two brothers, after the battle was over the <strong>Ma Chandi took rest at this<\/strong> <strong>place<\/strong>\u00a0known as<strong> Neel Parvat<\/strong> , near by there are two peaks known as the<strong> Demons Shumbha and Nishumbha peaks<\/strong>,\u00a0here \u00a0is another <strong>\u00a0temple\u00a0dedicated\u00a0to\u00a0Ma Anjana mother of lord\u00a0Hanuman\u00a0<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<strong>Mansa\u00a0Devi Temple<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is said that Chandi Devi and Mansa Devi\u00a0are <strong>two forms of Ma Parvati<\/strong> and the temples didicated to each one is always be in close vicinity\u00a0. <strong>The Mansa Devi ( Wish)\u00a0temple<\/strong> is across the river\u00a0Ganga on a <strong>Bilwa\u00a0Parvat<\/strong> ,<strong> Mansa Devi is sister of Nag devta Vasuki<\/strong> and it is a form of <strong>Shakti emerged out of the Muni (Sage) Kashapya<\/strong>.\u00a0It is <strong>a Sidh Peeth<\/strong> and people tie a thread to get their wishes fulfilled\u00a0and return to untie it .<br \/>\n<strong>Maya Devi Temple<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The ancient name of Hardwar is Mayapuri<\/strong> , the <strong>Maya Devi is the Adhisthatri deity of Hardwar<\/strong> , it is said that the Naval and heart of godess Sati fell here and it is a Shakti peeth.
