Every year around the first week of May\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Akshya Tritiya&#8221;,\u00a0Lord\u00a0Shani\u00a0Dev<\/strong> accompanies his sister\u00a0<strong>Yamuna<\/strong>\u00a0seven km up to Yamunotri\u00a0and returns back to\u00a0<strong>Kharsali . He<\/strong>\u00a0again meets to bring her back on the<strong>\u00a0&#8220;Bhai\u00a0Dooj&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0or<strong>\u00a0&#8220;Yam<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Dwetiya&#8221; two days after Diwali\u00a0<\/strong>it is also a day for Yamuna to meet her brother\u00a0<strong>Yamraj<\/strong>. ( Lord of taking away the spirits after death).<br \/>\n<strong>Architecture<\/strong><br \/>\nWho built this temple here at K<strong>harsali,<\/strong>\u00a0an<strong>\u00a0inscription\u00a0on stone<\/strong>\u00a0on its wall could not be translated till now, locals believe it\u00a0is constructed by the<strong>\u00a0Pandavas<\/strong>, looks more like\u00a0fort,\u00a0it is a\u00a0<strong>stone and wooden four\u00a0story structure<\/strong>. The main structure is constructed in a way by using stones, wood\u00a0the\u00a0<em><strong>Urad dal<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<em><strong>Vigna\u00a0mungo (<\/strong>botanical name<strong>\u00a0<a title=\"Lens culinaris\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lens_culinaris\">Lens culinaris)<\/a><\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is used as a part of mortar to fix the stones together. It has faced the mighty earthquakes and floods with no damage to the building since immortal time.
