It is from here the pilgrims hire mules , ponies or\u00a0palanquins . There are good number of guest houses and dharamshalas .<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm7.staticflickr.com\/6098\/6246754701_42b6105b5b.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jankichatti village, bus stand, Yamuna River<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nTill about 30 years ago the old\u00a0trekking route to <strong>Yamunotri<\/strong> was from the <strong>Kharsali village<\/strong> , a <strong>Guajrati lady<\/strong> named <strong>Janki Bai<\/strong> got a temple made, she also offered two silver Deepdan ( Silver Pots with stand) \u00a0still in use at the main <strong>Yamunotri temple<\/strong> and helped in\u00a0facilities\u00a0for the pilgrims , the Govt. recorded this place as <strong>Janki Mai Chatti<\/strong> to pay her a respect which is now called as the <strong>Janki Chatti.<\/strong><br \/>\nThere is a<strong> Ram temple<\/strong> famous for the hot water spring ,\u00a0pilgrims\u00a0do take a bath before starting the trek for <strong>Yamunotri<\/strong>.<br \/>\nOne can also make <strong>Janki Chatti<\/strong> as a base camp for<strong> Sapt Rishi Kund trek<\/strong> which is at the base of <strong>Kalind Mountain of \u00a0Banderpunch<\/strong> it is a Glacial lake 19 km from<strong> Janki Chatti<\/strong>\u00a0 a two days trek .
