The importance of this river to us is<strong> it has given our country the name India and people living here are called the Hindu<\/strong> which is the distorted name of Sindhu in the Arab world.<strong> It is one of the seven most sacred rivers in India<\/strong> .<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7002\/6771501405_43e7b9f264.jpg?resize=500%2C375\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sindhu (Indus) Ghat Leh<\/p><\/div><br \/>\n<strong>Sindhu Darshan festival<\/strong> is celebrated every year <strong>on Guru Purnima ( Full moon of June)<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Festival which takes place over three days every year is the perfect time to visit the remote regions of Leh and Ladakh. The Ghat is in\u00a0Shey Manla, about \u00a08 km from Leh. People travel for a Darshan and Puja of the River Sindhu (Indus),\u00a0this festival is also a symbolic salute to the brave soldiers of India who have bravely fought the odds at Siachin, Kargil &amp; other places.\u00a0Mr. Lal Krishan Adwani( then Dy. Prime Minister) who migrated from Sindh in 1947 \u00a0now in Pakistan, visited Leh in 1995 \u00a0he started<strong> the Sindhu Darshan Abhiyan<\/strong> as Sindhi&#8217;s worship Indus ( Sindhu). \u00a0Festival was first time organized in the year 1997 and now it is a regular feature .\u00a0In 2006, this popular spring festival of Ladakh was renamed<strong> &#8216;Ladakh Singhey Khabab Spring Festival&#8217;<\/strong>\u00a0to bring in more Ladakhi flavor and local involvement.
