\nThere is an\u00a0inscription on a near by rocks \u00a0orders from the King \u00a0Lde for not to\u00a0sacrifice a goat at the altar of a deity<\/strong> , there is also an inscription that this order of King is too hard if goat is not\u00a0sacrificed what will the deity say .<\/strong>
\n\u00a0Shergol\u00a0<\/strong>It is a \u00a0picturesque village of the Wakha river Valley<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0it \u00a0is situated across the river, right of the Kargil-Leh road. This village is full of Popalar trees , orchards of Walnut and Apricots<\/strong> The main attraction is a cave monastery which is visible from a far as a white speck against the vertically rising ochre hill from which it appears to hanging \u00a0out. Below this small monastery is a larger Buddhist nunnery with about a dozen residents. The village is accessible by the motorable road that branches off from the Kargil-Leh road, about 5 km before \u00a0Mulbek<\/strong>.\u00a0Shergol<\/strong> is a convenient base for an exciting 4-day trek across the mountain range into the Suru valley<\/strong>.<\/em>\u00a0It is also the \u00a0base for visiting\u00a0Urgyan-Dzong<\/strong>,<\/em>\u00a0a meditation retreat lying deep inside the mountains surrounding the Wakha River valley<\/strong>.
