It is a small monastery belongs to \u00a0the red-hat sect of Buddhism , it has several sister monasteries, including <strong>three in the Zanskar<\/strong> valley namely <strong>Mud<\/strong> and <strong>Kharu<\/strong> and those of<strong> Stakrimo, Bardan<\/strong> and<strong> Sani<\/strong> in Zanskar.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3603\/5758945780_224453d817.jpg?resize=500%2C332\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stakna Gompa Monastery Leh<\/p><\/div><br \/>\n<strong>Stakna<\/strong> <strong>Monastery<\/strong> of Leh Ladakh is establised by<strong>\u00a0Chosje Jamyang Palkar<\/strong>, the great scholar saint of Bhutan .\u00a0The central image inside the monastery is that of the sacred <strong>Arya Avalokitesvara from Kamrup (Assam)<\/strong>.\u00a0This monastery is a visual display of the religious and cultural heritage of India and Buddhism.<br \/>\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3151\/2805524151_74f66d9627.jpg\" \/><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<strong>The Gompa<\/strong> consists of the head Lama&#8217;s private apartment, a <strong>Dukhang<\/strong> (main temple and assembly hall) and the rooms of the Lamas and their attendants.\u00a0the Dukhang or main assembly hall, which contains a <strong>silver gilted chorten<\/strong>, seven feet high, erected by the present head Lama in the 1950s.
