Ferry from Okha port to Bet Dwarka<\/p><\/div>
\nAfter crossing the 5 km creek by a ferry one is to walk about 10 minutes to reach the temple.
\nIt is believed that Lord Krishna stayed at Bet Dwarka with his wife to save himself from scorching heat. The temple has a huge statue of the Lord Krishna platted in gold. The Temple’s shikhar is in one straight \u00a0line with Sharda shakti temple and \u00a0Devki ji (Krishna’s mother) temple sikhar<\/strong>.\u00a0 It is also the seat of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu<\/strong>. it is said that Bet Dwarka is the holiest pilgrimage place for the Vaishnav\u2019s Hindus .\u00a0Bet Dwarka now is abode of 20 Vishnu temples, 23 shiv temples, <\/strong>including well known<\/strong> Dhingeshvara , Nilkantheshwar, Abhaya , Dhara shakti peeths along with other 14 Devi temples. \nThe lane in which this temple is , flooded by small shops \u00a0selling shells, rosary beads , old coins , photos , \u00a0idols of Lord Krishna, local crafts and refreshments .\u00a0500 year old temple<\/strong> is built by Shri Vallabhacharya<\/strong>, it enshrines an idol of\u00a0gold\u00a0believed to be made by Lord Krishna ‘s wife Rukmini<\/strong> , tradition is to\u00a0\u00a0present the Brahmins<\/strong> here with donations of rice.
\n\u00a0Lord Buddha<\/strong> also stayed in Bet Dwarka<\/strong>, \u00a0there is a Stupa and on one of the chajja (<\/strong> Gallery)<\/strong> in the main temple there is an image of Lord Buddha . Bet Dwarka<\/strong> has glorious history as Meera Bai<\/strong>\u00a0 of Chittor\u00a0, arrived from Rajasthan<\/strong>\u00a0and \u00a0merged with the graceful image of Lord Krishna<\/strong>.
