It use to be a port on the mouth of river <strong>Sindhu ( Indus)<\/strong> on<strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0Arabian Sea. <\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">This city was established by<\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"> Rao Lakha Ji<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"> and wall to protect the city was erected under the supervision of <\/span><strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0Fort\u00a0<\/span>Commander<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0 Fatheh Mohmmad in 1801 AD<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0. <strong>The earth quake in the year 1819<\/strong> changed the course of<strong> Sindhu River<\/strong> it drifted further to west about 50 km and this city lost its importance as a port.<\/span><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm3.staticflickr.com\/2855\/12922213993_a211ff36b6.jpg?resize=500%2C333\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gurudwara Paheli Patshahi , Lakhpat , Gujarat<\/p><\/div><br \/>\n<strong>Lakhpat<\/strong> was also called <strong>Basta Bander<\/strong> and was part of <strong>Sindh<\/strong> till 1947 .\u00a0Historically it has been very important trading post connecting Gujarat to Sindh. The waters of<strong>\u00a0Sindhu River<\/strong>\u00a0used to flow into\u00a0<strong>Lakhpat<\/strong>\u00a0and further onto<strong>\u00a0Deshalpar<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0travelers were using this port for travel to <strong>Persia , Basra and Saudi Arabia ,<\/strong> it was famous for Muslim pilgrims traveling <strong>for Hajj to Mecca and Madena<\/strong> in Saudi Arabia \u00a0, <strong>Guru Nanak Dev Ji<\/strong> who started travelling<strong> ( Udasis )<\/strong>\u00a0 at the age of thirty with his Muslim companion Mardana who played Rabab instrument \u00a0to preach about his views the message of GOD in local languages , during his<strong> Udasis<\/strong> in <strong>1506-1513 AD \u00a0and 1519-1521 AD he\u00a0<\/strong>stayed in<strong> Lakhpat <\/strong>on his way to<strong> Mecca and Madina .<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3704\/12922191883_18cfbd80e9.jpg?resize=500%2C333\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Door to the Compound<\/p><\/div><br \/>\n<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Until 1972 this place where<strong> Guru Nanak Dev Ji<\/strong> stayed was a \u00a0<strong> Satnami<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>U<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"><strong>dasi Dera . Satnami \u00a0Ud<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"><strong>asi sect<\/strong> was established \u00a0by<strong> Sri Chand \u00a0elder son of Guru Nanak Dev Ji<\/strong> , The Udasi Sect\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">principles were more close to the the Yogis way of life, staying away from the mortal world where as <\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Guru Nanak Dev Ji<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"> teachings were with the normal family way of life , <\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0the last care takers were <\/span><strong style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">Baba Mool Dass Hari Dass un<\/strong><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\"><strong>til 1972<\/strong>\u00a0 The Udasis Sect. claimed to be followers of Guru Nanak Dev Ji .<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">\u00a0T<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">he Sindhi and Sikh community\u00a0who were settled in nearby \u00a0cities after the partition of India , requested the Govt. to hand over the place to them , it was handed over with the condition that its original structure will not be changed as it is a Historical Heritage property .<\/span><br \/>\nThe Gurdawara was restored to its present \u00a0state by the \u00a0efforts of United Nations volunteer program and the locals of nearby areas.
