The<strong> &#8216;Shikhar&#8217;<\/strong> (spire) of the temple is <strong>\u00a0Dravidian<\/strong> in its style, whereas the ornamentation is done in the<strong> Nagara style (specific to North India)<\/strong>. Teli Ka mandir \u00a0doesn&#8217;t have any <strong>&#8216;Mandap&#8217;<\/strong> or pillared hall. The temple comprises<strong> a Garbha Griha \u00a0a porch and a doorway<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3917\/15125653472_2c6e21f16c.jpg?resize=500%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Teli Ka Mandir , Telang Mandir Gwalior Fort<\/p><\/div><br \/>\n<strong>Teli Ka Mandir<\/strong> is 100 feet \u00a0the tallest and most stunning temple in the \u00a0Gwalior Fort. The temple is actually dedicated to <strong>Lord Vishnu<\/strong> in the form of his mount,<strong> Garuda. <\/strong>A\u00a0\u00a0honeycomb design with a series of receding pointed arches within an arch. The entrance door has a <strong>Toran<\/strong>\u00a0or archway with<strong> \u00a0images of river goddesses Yamuna and Ganga, romantic couples, foliation decoration and a Garuda\u00a0. Diamond and lotus designs are seen on the horizontal band at the top of the arch<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5580\/14942857227_ef1f4e0e61.jpg?resize=500%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Entrance to the Garbha Griha , Teli Ka Mandir<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nWithin the rectangular structure is a shrine with no pillared pavilions \u00a0\u00a0with a<strong> Barrel Vaulted<\/strong> or\u00a0<strong>\u00a0Valabhi\u00a0<\/strong>roof 25 meters (82\u00a0ft) in height. Figures of amorous couples, coiled serpents, on the doorway one can see the ladies from a royal family sailing in a decorated \u00a0boat , one \u00a0of the maid having an umbrella for shade , above it are coiled snakes \u00a0 . \u00a0At the \u00a0The central position on the doorway is dominated by the figure of<strong> flying Garuda.<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3890\/15129438975_bd9e0071f1.jpg?resize=500%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torana or Arched door way at Teli Ka mandir<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nThere are legends about the name of this temple . One says\u00a0\u00a0it was made from donation of a Oil merchant who locally called Teli, given its name <strong>Teli&#8217;s Temple<\/strong>. The other story says as it was built form princes from <strong>Telengana<\/strong> (region in South India) it is called <strong>Teli Ka Mandir<\/strong>. One more \u00a0story says, <strong>&#8220;Teli Ka Mandir&#8221;<\/strong> term came as this <strong>Rajput Temple<\/strong> according to some legends, <strong>Rashtrakuta Govinda III<\/strong> conquered the Fort in 794 AD .
