Morena 45 km. from<strong> Gwalior<\/strong> , old name of <strong>Padhavali<\/strong> is <strong>Dharon<\/strong> with neighboring towns were<strong> Kutwar ( Kantipur )<\/strong> and <strong>Suhaniaya ( Simphania)<\/strong> originally they collectively formed one large city.\u00a0The <strong>Kutwar<\/strong> \u00a0is associated with <strong>Kunti<\/strong>, the mother of the<strong>\u00a0Pandavas<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3873\/15153772332_be825a384e.jpg?resize=500%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Garhi Padhvali Temple Entrance<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nIn the early 19th century, <strong>the Rana ( Jat ruler ), of Dholpur, converted a ruined temple atop a mound, into a small fort or Garhi.<\/strong> He used stones, said to be the remains of the old town of <strong>Dharon<\/strong>, to construct defensive towers for his fort,\u00a0A flight of stone steps, guarded by two stone lions, lead up to the ruins of the temple within the walls of the<strong> Garhi.<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3882\/15131125626_9f1d774b5b.jpg?resize=500%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Garhi Padhavali Temple , Gwalior<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nThe remains of the old structure stand atop a carved plinth rise <strong>sixteen sculpted pillars supporting a flat roof<\/strong>. The terrace, the courtyard and the assembly hall of this temple are the &#8216;epitome&#8217; of ancient culture .\u00a0There are intricately carved panels on the stone beams between the pillars.
