In <strong>Vikram Samvat 847 (792 AD)<\/strong> the City and Fort of <strong>Tanot<\/strong> was made capital by <strong>the Bhati King Tanu Rao<\/strong>\u00a0and the<strong> Goddess Mata Tanot Rai<\/strong> , the <strong>incarnation of The Mata Hinglaj<\/strong> whose main temple is in <strong>Baluchistan now in Pakistan<\/strong>, \u00a0was established as a<strong> Siddha Peetha<\/strong> in<strong> Vikram Samvat 888 ( 832AD)<\/strong> \u00a0, since then the generations of <strong>Bhati Rajputs<\/strong> ,<strong> people of Jaisalmer<\/strong> and surrounding areas pay respect to <strong>Mata Tanot Rai <\/strong>as their<strong> Kul &#8211; Devi .<\/strong> In<strong> 12th Centenary<\/strong> the<strong> Bhati King Maha Rawal Jaisal,<\/strong> <strong>shifted their capital to Loduvra, Jaisalmer\u00a0<\/strong>for strategic reasons but the temple of <strong>Mata Tanot Rai <\/strong>remained\u00a0here .<br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3913\/15122461677_813ecc3a32.jpg?resize=500%2C333&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mata Tanot Rai , Tanot , Jaisalmer<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nThe main<strong> Idol is the yellow mud colored rectangular slab, \u00a0it is a Siddha Sthanm<\/strong>\u00a0established in <strong>Vikram Samvat 888 (832 AD)<\/strong> , the <strong>Idol of Mata ji<\/strong> which we see in front is installed by the <strong>Border Security Force of India (BSF)<\/strong> , this temple has earned a undisputed respect and special place from the Armed Forces and the BSF because of the miracles in 1965 AD and then in 1971 AD war with Pakistan \u00a0. There are temples of <strong>Lord Hanuman Ji<\/strong> , <strong>Lord Shiva<\/strong> , <strong>Ma Mansa Devi<\/strong> where pilgrims tie their handkerchief as a prayer to get the wishes fulfilled , <strong>\u00a0Bhairo<\/strong> and a <strong>Mazar of a Pir Baba<\/strong><br \/>\nThe legend is that the <strong>Hinglaj Mata<\/strong> is a<strong> Shakti Peetha of Ma Sati<\/strong> worshiped in the form of <strong>Ma Durga<\/strong> or <strong>Devi<\/strong>\u00a0, the main temple is in<strong> Baluchistan now in Pakistan<\/strong> , pleased with the worship of a person name <strong>Mamadia from village Chelak<\/strong>\u00a0in <strong>Jaisalmer<\/strong>\u00a0, gave him a Boon that<strong> she will take birth as his daughter<\/strong>, \u00a0in the year <strong>Vikram Samvat 808 Chaitra Sudi 9th day on a Tuesday ( 752 AD)<\/strong> took birth , daughter was named as <strong>Avad Devi<\/strong> \u00a0and then the other six sisters named <strong>Ashi , Seti , Gehli , Hol , Roop and Lang <\/strong>were born , <strong>Mata Avad Devi<\/strong> showed her miracles in due course of time and also came to be known as <strong>Nagrenchi , Kale Dungar Rai , Bhojaseri , Deg Rai , Tebher Rai<\/strong> and then <strong>the Tanot Rai<\/strong> .<br \/>\nThe miracles shown during the war with Pakistan , in October 1965 the Pakistani Army entered \u00a0into Indian territory from \u00a0two places <strong>Kishen Garh<\/strong> and<strong> Sadewala<\/strong> but could not reach this place in spite of heavy Artillery Shelling and fierce gun battle .
