Starts from <strong>Manali , <span style=\"color: #000080\">Rohtang &#8211; La<\/span> ( 13054 ft.\/ 3979 mtrs.) <span style=\"color: #000080\">Tandi<\/span> ( 8430 ft\/2570 mtrs.) , Keylong , Jispa ( 11020 ft.\/3360 mtrs.), <span style=\"color: #000080\">Darcha , Baralacha &#8211; La Pass<\/span> ( 16500 ft.\/5030 mtrs.) ,<span style=\"color: #000080\"> Sarchu<\/span> ( 15100 ft.\/4600 mtrs.) , <span style=\"color: #000080\">Gata Loops<\/span> ( 22 hairpin bends) , <span style=\"color: #000080\">Nakee &#8211; La Pass , Lachulung &#8211; La Pass<\/span> ( 16616 ft.\/ 5065 mtrs.) , Pang , <span style=\"color: #000080\">Tanglang &#8211; La Pass<\/span> ( 17480 ft.\/5328 mtrs.) , Karu ,<span style=\"color: #000080\"> Leh<\/span> ( 11483 ft.\/3500 mtrs.)<\/strong> total distance to be covered <strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080\">490 km<\/span> full of not even thought of surprises and scenery .<\/strong><br \/>\n<div style=\"width: 510px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3906\/14427537885_776b279f84.jpg?resize=500%2C375&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Baralacha La<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nSince 1974 when restrictions were removed to visit Ladakh, every year thousands of people travel to experience this<strong> part of India which is also known as Little Tibet<\/strong> , there are vast barren lands golden yellow, black and grey mountains, green patches near \u00a0crystal clear \u00a0Lakes and rivers . All this is available from May to October \/ November only, rest of the year most of these roads and high passes are under the thick blanket of snow. Helmet , knee and elbow guards are must, there are Glacial melt streams one is to avoid getting wet there , if got wet change the cloths and shoes with dry ones as soon as possible. Air is dry which takes away the moister from the skin very fast , one must cover the body with woolen and wind cheater clothing .<br \/>\n<strong>There are two levels of mountain \u00a0driving at this route<\/strong> .<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff\">High Altitude<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><strong>2500 mtrs.\/8000 ft. to 4000 mtrs.\/13000 ft.<\/strong>\u00a0(one night stay is must at this altitude for acclimatization)<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Very High Altitude\u00a0<\/span>4000 mtr.\/13000 ft. to 5500 mtr.\/18000 ft. \u00a0<\/strong>(avoid sleeping first night at this altitude )<br \/>\nNormal first aid kit and one must understand the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>symptoms of<strong> \u00a0Acute Mountain Sickness ( AMS)<\/strong> to whom it can effect or not there is no thumb rule \u00a0but any where <strong>when one feels heavy head \/ head ache , giddiness<\/strong>\u00a0, <strong>Fatigue , Nausea , Nose Bleed, Pins and Needles , Swelling of hand, face and feet , High pulse rate ( 110)<\/strong>.
